Use case

A system that grew over the years, with support running out.

A bespoke development, a landscape of spreadsheets or a system at the end of its life? flynne takes over: migration is part of the project.

flynne at work: Replacing a legacy system

Out of the same practice

flynne came into being while replacing a bespoke system that had grown over the years.

Migration planned in

Data transfer and switchover are part of the implementation project, not an extra topic.

Your particularities are familiar

Supervision ratios, cost allocation and deadline logic are standard in flynne. Anything beyond that we settle in the specification.

A basis with a future

A modern SaaS platform, EU hosting, continuous development instead of standstill.

The system runs, but nobody wants to touch it any more

Grown over years, understood by a handful of people, with no maintenance path: systems like that work until they do not. Replacing them rarely fails on the technology but on the question of who actually knows the processes.

We know the starting point

flynne comes out of two decades of running selection procedures in a large group, and out of replacing the system that carried that operation. The features exist because they were missing there.

  • Disruption management, because it was missing
  • Internal billing, because it was manual work
  • The qualification matrix, because mis-staffing is expensive

Switching over in steps

Analysis and configuration, interfaces to the ATS and test providers, migration of existing data, testing and acceptance, then go-live with hypercare. No big bang without a safety net.

  • A specification written together
  • Data transfer with migration scripts
  • A hypercare phase after go-live

Afterwards, an end to special knowledge

Roles and portals instead of isolated solutions, templates instead of checklists in someone’s head, documentation instead of the experience of individuals. New colleagues plan correctly from day one.

  • Procedures as templates rather than as knowledge
  • Roles with clear permissions
  • Support in four languages, short paths

What is there afterwards

A system that shows the operation instead of hiding it.

An example view with neutral demo data.

Common questions

Can existing data be transferred?

Yes. Migration and data transfer are part of the implementation project; we clarify the scope during the analysis phase.

How long does a replacement take?

That depends on scope and integrations. A typical project covers analysis, configuration, interfaces, testing and go-live with hypercare.

What happens to our special processes?

Much of it is standard in flynne: supervision ratios, billing, deadline logic. Anything missing we examine in the specification.

What happens to our data if we leave again?

You get a complete export of your data. We produce it on request, in the formats and within the deadlines set out in the contract.

Do both systems run in parallel?

For a transitional period that is possible. We plan the cut-over so that procedures in flight are not put at risk.
