Our vision

Imagine a world in which the talents of every single person are recognised and put to their best use.

That is what we work on, with flynne, the operating system for assessments. Nationality, age, gender or a CV with gaps should disqualify nobody. What counts is potential, and it only becomes visible in procedures that are worth something.

From the operation, not from the lab.

flynne comes out of two decades of running selection procedures in a large group: thousands of assessment days and tens of thousands of candidates, planned, run and documented.

Every feature has a reason

Disruption management, the qualification matrix, internal cost allocation, supervision ratios: none of it came off a whiteboard. Every feature exists because it was missing in a real selection operation. That knowledge now sits in flynne.

The highest standards

Structured procedures in the sense of DIN 33430, AGG-proof documentation, a co-determination process actually completed, GDPR deletion concepts as standard. flynne is built for the German-speaking market, not translated for it.

Where the name comes from

Named after James R. Flynn.

Flynn (1934–2020) was a political scientist at the University of Otago in New Zealand who became famous in a field that was not his own. He compared IQ data across decades and found that scores rise from one generation to the next — so markedly that a result from 1950 and one from 1990 do not mean the same thing, even though the same number sits underneath. The finding carries his name today: the Flynn effect.

His point was uncomfortable and simple at once: a test result is worth no more than the conditions it was produced under. Anyone who wants to compare people has to make the conditions comparable first — the same tasks, the same time, the same observation, properly documented.

That is exactly our work. flynne measures nothing and judges no one. flynne creates the frame in which human judgement holds up.

Our product carrying his name is our nod to that stance — there is no connection to him or to his estate.

What drives us

What we stand for

The flynne guiding principle as a framed picture on the office wall in Mainz

Why we do this

Working life is changing fast, through new technology but also through changed attitudes and ways of working. What counts is the ability to learn, to collaborate, and potential.

Structured assessments make that visible, but only when they are run properly: with the right people, at the right time, cleanly documented. That is exactly where we come in.

Our mission

To work against the skills shortage and help organisations find the best talent, with selection procedures that are fair, well founded and traceable.

flynne makes sure people can concentrate on people rather than on organisation. The platform takes over appointments, resources, deadlines and disruptions. The judgement stays with those who have been trained for it.

Our commitment

We want to make undiscovered talent visible: to open up opportunities for people with potential, to help shape careers and to help organisations recognise that potential.

That conviction is stronger today than when we started, and we feel bound to align what we do with it.

Four disciplines, one project team

Aptitude diagnostics & recruiting

People who have run selection procedures themselves and know where they fail.

Software engineering

The platform is built in house. Whoever builds it sits in the same project as you.

Data science

Figures, forecasts and pattern recognition for the operation, not for judging people.

Project management & support

Implementation, interfaces, training and day-to-day operations, with named contacts.

Built for the German-speaking market and the world.

Much of flynne is not a feature but a matter of where it comes from: built for German selection practice, with its rules and its committees.

Co-determination, actually completed

flynne has many full works council processes in large groups behind it. We bring the reasoning and the documentation for your committee rather than leaving you alone with it.

What the works council asks

Data in the EU, contract in Germany

Hosting in Germany, with a German contracting party.

EU AI Act: a position, not a retrofit

flynne deliberately contains no AI that judges people, while AI screening elsewhere triggers high-risk obligations for which you are liable as the deployer.

Why our AI does not judge

German legal standards as product logic

Standardised procedures in the sense of DIN 33430, evidence for merit-based selection under Article 33 of the constitution, and procurement readiness as standard.

DIN 33430 day to day

Depth in aptitude diagnostics

The qualification matrix, supervision ratios, report deadlines, internal cost allocation: flynne speaks the language of German assessment teams, not that of interview tools.

Support, short paths

You get the product and the documentation in German, English, Spanish and French. Support is available in your time zone. We also offer individual data processing agreements and bring experience with German public procurement terms.
